Sell gold with confidence.
Know the number before you walk in. Check your item’s melt value, then let reviewed local dealers compete for it. Free, private, no obligation.
Not sure? Look for a stamp like 14K, 585 or 925 inside a ring or on a clasp, and weigh the piece on a kitchen or jewelry scale. 1 dwt (pennyweight) = 1.56 g; 1 troy oz = 31.1 g.
Melt value = weight × purity × live spot. It’s an estimate of the metal content, not an offer. Dealers typically pay less than melt for scrap, and coins or designer pieces can be worth more.
Before you sell
- Sort pieces by karat — 10K, 14K and 18K are priced differently.
- Weigh at home in grams if you can, and compare against the calculator.
- Get more than one offer. Ask for it in writing.
- Watch your items being weighed and tested.
- Bring photo ID — many states and towns require it, and sellers must be 18+.
